OIL & GAS TRAINING CONSULTANT

We are seeking dynamic and experienced instructors in all disciplines, but the areas of immediate need are Oil & Gas (Upstream-Downstream), Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE). We contract with qualified subject matter experts based on the demand for training in their area(s) of expertise.


YOUR PROFILE:
The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and experience:


Education: A bachelor's degree or higher in petroleum engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, geology, or a related field is typically required. Advanced degrees, such as a Master's or PhD, can be advantageous.

Industry Experience: Substantial experience working in the upstream and/or downstream sectors of the oil and gas industry is crucial. This can include experience in exploration, drilling, production, refining, transportation, marketing, or distribution. In-depth knowledge of industry standards, practices,regulations, and technologies is essential.

Teaching Experience: Prior experience in teaching or training, either in a classroom or field setting, is highly desirable. This can include experience as a technical trainer, mentor, or supervisor in the oil and gas industry.

Certifications: Relevant certifications, such as those from professional organizations like the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE), American Petroleum Institute (API), or other industry-specific certifications, can enhance your qualifications as an oil and gas instructor.

Technical Skills:
Proficiency in relevant software and tools used in upstream and downstream operations, such as reservoir simulation software, drilling software, production optimization tools, refining process simulation software, etc., is important for an oil and gas instructor.

Communication Skills: Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, are necessary to effectively convey complex concepts to learners and facilitate discussions. Clear and concise communication is critical for successful instruction.

Leadership Skills: As an instructor, you may be required to lead a team of learners or professionals during training programs or workshops. Therefore, leadership skills, including the ability to inspire, motivate, and manage a group, are beneficial.

Adaptability and Continuous Learning: The oil and gas industry is constantly evolving, and as an instructor, you need to stay updated with the latest trends, technologies, and industry changes. Adaptability and a commitment to continuous learning are essential qualities for an effective oil and gas instructor.

Safety Focus: Safety is of paramount importance in the oil and gas industry. As an instructor, you must have a strong focus on safety, emphasizing safe practices, hazard identification, and risk management in all aspects of upstream and
downstream operations.


YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES:


1. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering training programs that cover various aspects of the oil and gas industry, including exploration, drilling, production, refining, and distribution.

2. You'll be required to offer learners various comfortable delivery options, such as virtual sessions or face-to-face instruction, which can be organized either in-house or publicly. This will help to make the learning process more accessible and effective.

3. You will be responsible for conducting training sessions in a classroom or lab setting. This may involve delivering lectures, leading discussions, and facilitating hands-on activities.

4. You will be responsible for creating training materials such as manuals, presentations, and instructional videos to support your training programs.

5. You will be responsible for assessing the performance of learners during training sessions to determine their level of proficiency and identify areas for improvement.

6. You will be responsible for staying up-to-date with the latest developments in the oil and gas industry to ensure that your training programs are current and relevant.

7. You may work with industry experts to develop training programs and ensure that the content is accurate and reflects current industry practices.

8. You may be responsible for providing guidance and support to students as they progress through the training program, answering questions and addressing concerns as needed.

9. You will be responsible for ensuring that your training programs comply with industry regulations, such as those related to safety and environmental protection.

10. You may be responsible for delivering training sessions in a practical and hands-on environment, such as a drilling rig or production facility. This may involve demonstrating techniques, coaching learners, and providing feedback.

WHAT WE OFFER YOU:

For successful candidates engaged in part-time work on a contract basis, we offer a competitive average daily salary that ranges from $700 to $900.
